After the recent study published showing the fall in Oesophageal and gastric cancer diagnosis, Dr Richard Turkington has spoken to Tara Mills and Declan Harvey for their radio show BBC Evening Extra.
Tara Mills and Declan Harvey interviewed several people on their BBC Evening Extra radio show to discuss how Covid-19 has seen the fall in diagnosis of all cancers across the board. Dr Richard Turkington spoke about the recent statistics surrounding this. He went on to say how much this has impacted people with diseases like Barretts Oesphogus that rely on screening to pick up the condition.
Dr Turkington reiterated the need to protect our cancer services and most importantly advised any one suffering from symptoms to contact their GP as they are still open and providing the services needed.
